Gidget, a Little Camper with Big Ideas
Brisbane based manufacturer, Gidget Retro Teardrop Campers, have taken the popular 60s teardrop camper design and integrated the very latest technologies, comforts and design features.
The Gidget Brumby is the latest to undergo the modernisation, built specifically for Australian conditions and sporting a range of features unexpected in such a cute little camper.
Once the camper is parked, the entire front slides out, increasing its internal size and allowing a queen size bed. The little teardrop camper is quite self-sufficient, while expanded, the camper reveals a bank of solar panels on the roof that charge the internal battery, plus a full width skylight filling the internal cabin with natural light.
The rear of the camper opens up to reveal a quality built kitchen featuring natural timbers, a two burner gas cooktop, built in water storage with a pressurised water system, sink and room for a slide out fridge. The inside of the camper has all the mod-cons as well, from USB charging outlets to a built in TV and stereo system.
Gidget Retro Teardrop Campers will be on display and open to the public to view at the 2017 Moreton Bay Caravan, Camping, Boating and 4×4 Expo at the Redcliffe Showgrounds between Friday the 17th and Sunday 19th February. The Expo is the first major industry event in Queensland for 2017 and the organisers are expecting massive support for the event. For further event details visit www.bayexpo.com.au
