The Moreton Bay Regional Prostate Cancer Support Group, through the courtesy of the Urology Department of Redcliffe Hospital, was formed in 2012 to provide support to men and their partners affected by prostate cancer. The Group now meets monthly in the evenings at the Mango Hill Community Centre, Linear Drive, Mango Hill.
The Group reaches out to men and their partners throughout the whole of the Moreton Bay Regional Area although men from outside the region from the north of Brisbane have been welcomed. It is now the second largest support group in Queensland.
There over 220 members and partners in the group and all receive the group’s monthly newsletter covering group news, humour and health and topical news.
The group introduces a wide range of speakers covering prostate cancer treatments, other medical issues, age related problems and even topical issues.
Social activities are also provided as the group strives to suppress the depressive nature of prostate cancer treatments and journeys and to increase camaraderie amongst members.
The Group is affiliated with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and is supported by Redcliffe Hospital, YMCA and the Moreton Bay Regional Council.
Group contact details are phone on 0435 119 628, email at email@example.com and web site at www.prostatesupportgroup.org. Talk to them in person at the expo, site OA441.
